Professional Training for Indian and European Film Producers

In order to initiate international market exchange and the exchange of ideas, PRIMEXCHANGE focuses on the field of project development. As a professional co-production workshop PRIMEXCHANGE offers a multi-dimensional and trans-national analysis of the project’s potential for independent European and Indian film and TV producers. Each project will be evaluated comprehensively with respect to the fields of script analysis, market research, financing/funding, distribution, world sales and games/interactive media.

The Workshop
The successful development of the individual projects as well as the networking between European and Indian participants and experts is the main focus of the 7-day workshop. Projects will be evaluated and presented in terms of their transnational market potential in order to find solutions on how to implement co-operations and co-productions between India and Europe.
The program combines lecture units with group and individual coaching sessions. Training and consulting in script development, market research, financing, distribution/world sales, and games/interactive media is provided by leading international experts from the film industry, a great opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange.

Target group
Independent European and Indian film producers or teams consisting of a producer and a screenwriter could apply with a concrete feature-length Film project in the stage of packaging. A maximum of 4 European and 4 Indian projects will be selected for participation in the workshop.
Requirements and Selection Criteria’s
Minimum requirements are: script, synopsis, producer’s note, detailed financing plan and a company profile.

• Since the workshop will assist the producers in getting a better understanding about the Indian respectively the European market, beside the quality of the content of the project, in general we are looking for European and Indian producers with interest in the market of both sub-continents.
• Technically we are searching for European and Indian projects in the stage of development. The minimum requirements are a first draft and the financing plan (please find more details in the application file you’ll find on www.primexchange.eu)
• Concerning the content we are searching for projects with a potential to be co-produced or co-financed with Europe and/or India, or released or shooted in Europe and/or India. In addition to that we would also accept projects searching for an Indian author, cast or director.

Application and Registration
While the PRIMEXCHANGE co-production workshop is dedicated specifically to producers and screenwriters, the PRIMEXCHANGE platform is open to the whole media industry. This first internet B2B network for European and Indian film professionals was launched by PRIMEHOUSE with the aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas and know-how, and ultimately to promote transnational co-productions as well as cultural exchange. Therefore the first step to apply for the workshop is to register at the platform.

Dates, venues and costs

• Application Deadline October 24th, 2011
• PRIMEXCHANGE will take place in November 20th – 27th, in the framework of FILM BAZAAR India, in the Marriott Hotel in GOA, India.
• No charge for participation.
• Except travel costs all costs for accommodation during the workshop are covert.
